The development of Arabic Studies in the Academic World of Spain has suffered a lot of changes in the last 200 years and it has achieved a great deal of the scholarly relevance which was one of the targets of the Arabists of that period. The broad scope of the Arabic Studies is also one of the strengths of this group of scholars: Language, Literature, History, Archeology, …we are very close to the end of this field, which shall be dissolved as we show up in this paper. Arabic Studies is now facing the technology revolution which will change the work of the Arabist, and evolving to adapt the skills of the translators to the world of computers.
