The present article is a historical study of the monuments and archaeological remains which have survived until the contemporary Córdoba since the Andalusi Qurtuba, that is, the aljama mosque, Madinat al-Zahra, the transport layout of al-Madina and the eastern area of the fortified precinct (Ajerquía). In order to provide a context for the latter, we have carried out a historical revision and an analysis of the archaeological remains which have been preserved until our days, such as the almunias, the minarets, the Umayyad fortresses, the baths, etc., all of them recovered from the glorious historical Qurtuba.
