Media technologies, such as the internet and mobile phones, significantly contributed to hastening the exit of Ben Ali and the fall of his regime. Credit can be given to young Tunisians who seized these technologies and turned them into spaces for protest and developed action plans and a discourse that was radically different from that of their elders. Satellite TV channels such as Al-Jazeera regularly divulged images that these young people had uploaded onto digital social networks. At the present moment, Facebook is the social network followed by the majority of Tunisians and has established itself as an «actor» of political life in Tunisia.
