Located at the crossroads of the world’s busiest seas, with two coastlines facing the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, Morocco has always been at the center of global maritime trade. His position has allowed this country to take advantage of the benefits offered by this unique geographical environment in various ways, resulting in the development of a diverse maritime culture. From this perspective and to better appreciate its historical changes across time, we intend to portray the ports of this country, in this case those on the Strait, as main role-players in this Mediterranean-Atlantic area. The emphasis will also be placed on the life and role of ports, as well as their functions and their importance in the country’s economic and political ambitions in both past and present.
