The first two decades of Israelʼs existence were decisive for its establishment as a State and for the role its minorities would assume. During this period, the first Arab pressure groups were defined and there were always writers and poets among their members. Hence political and literary expression of the Inside Palestinians ―that is to say those non Jewish Palestinians who remained in territories that fell under Israeli control after its foundation in 1948― were linked from the start, insomuch that the two could be confused with each other. This article describes the genesis of the main Palestinian political forces inside Israel since its foundation up until the abolition of military rule and analyzes its relation with the literary sphere.
