This article deals with the question of female parliamentary democracy and their representation in the Arab world. Approaching both statistical and historical contexts, we will analyze and present the role of women in societies. In that sense, we will answer the following questions: How is parliamentary representative democracy to develop, in principle, from general balloting to women gaining their rights to vote and run for office in practical terms? What is the reality of female representation in Arab countries relative to other countries of the world? What are the inherent causes and obstacles behind the puzzling delay in the proportion of female representation in the parliaments of underdeveloped countries, especially the Arab ones among them?
